Craig A. Solid, PhD Owner and Principal
Since 1999, I have helped organizations navigate the complex world of data and measurement related to healthcare quality and research.
My unique experience allows me to understand the perspectives of both providers and regulators, and appreciate that they each face challenges when trying to accurately measure and assess the quality of healthcare services.
I believe that measuring healthcare quality and value is difficult, but possible - and the right thing to do. I believe that data can provide insight and leverage, but that data and analytic methods are tools that are useful only in light of practical considerations, clinical expertise, and operational knowledge and experience. I like to find solutions that are efficient, practical, and easy to understand and communicate.
I have served as a sub-contractor for CMS-funded QIOs, advised physician groups on MIPS-related activities, and assisted multiple organizations design and test quality measures submitted for NQF endorsement.
I have an M.S. in Statistics and a Ph.D. in Applied Economics. I have co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts and have presented work at numerous national and international conferences. I've also also previously taught college-level statistics courses and am a member of AcademyHealth, the American Statistical Association, and the American Medical Writers Association.
